CPIX.net, Michigan’s Commercial Property Information Exchange, Celebrates 20-year Anniversary

April 20, 2023 by Nancy Allen

CPIX.net, Michigan’s Commercial Property Information Exchange, Celebrates 20-year Anniversary

Howell, Michigan, April 20th, 2023. The Commercial Board of REALTORS® – Michigan (CBOR) announces that CPIX.net, its statewide Commercial Property Information Exchange (CIE), is celebrating 20 years of service this month.

In 2003, CBOR initiated a search for a commercial real estate software company to partner with and created a relationship with Catylist. Catylist caters to commercial real estate focused associations, allowing them to create rules, determine pricing, and have administrative control over members and data. Most importantly, Catylist allows CBOR to own the compilation of data collected from members. Data ownership is a critical point to operating a CIE and it still differentiates Catylist from any other technology provider to date.

In 2021, Catylist was acquired by Moody’s Analytics CRE which provides commercial real estate solutions for brokers, lenders, and investors. Soon, CPIX members will have the advantage of new technology coupled with analytical data. This will enhance the scope of CPIX, expanding its marketing solution to a more robust marketing-research platform and increase the benefits of membership exponentially with the power of Moody’s Analytics CRE.

CPIX member benefits expected to be integrated in 2023 include Enhanced Workflow Tools; Property Records for available and off-market properties; Tax Cards; Loan Data; Commercial Mortgage-Backed Security Data; True Owner Data; Environmental Climate Risk; Market, Submarket, and Property Level Analytics; Sales Comps; New Construction; and Increased International Outreach. Current members have the ability to “Test Drive” the new Catylist|Moody’s CRE platform while preparation to transition to the new technology fully continues.

CBOR, with 700 members, provides Michigan’s commercial real estate practitioners with industry-related professional services and benefits such as CPIX, continuing education, networking, and professional standards.

Nancy Allen, Chief Executive Officer of CBOR and CPIX Executive Director, said, “When CBOR launched CPIX in 2003 many of the CRE professionals were reluctant to share their listing information openly on a public website. After finding ways to overcome the pocket listing hurdle, it became apparent that CBOR not only chose the best possible partner with Catylist but that the timing was perfect for introducing a locally governed alternative to existing national marketing sites. As we celebrate the 20-year CPIX anniversary, I take great pride on behalf of CBOR, our volunteer leadership throughout the years, and the CRE community for embracing the ability to control their own platform and grow CPIX to the incredible service that it is today.”

CPIX.net is available to the general public allowing anyone to search available properties. CPIX Membership upgrades are available to individuals without long-term contracts or listing limitations. Membership in CPIX also auto-syndicates listing data to Commercial Exchange, and a long list of economic development organizations, including the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).

Howell, Michigan, March 2, 2023. The Commercial Board of REALTORS® – Michigan (“CBOR”) is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide administrative services for the CCIM Michigan Chapter. The new relationship was announced at CCIM Michigan Chapter’s annual meeting held in February at the Novi Suburban Collection Showplace.

The annual meeting also recognized the 2023 CCIM Michigan Chapter Officers and 2022 Transaction Award winners. Chapter Officers include President Alis Manoogian, CCIM, of The Farbman Group, Vice President Mojahed Abubars, CCIM, of Insite Commercial, Treasurer Larry Harwood, CCIM, of Orinda Capital Group and Past President Wayne Loebig, CCIM, of Spartan Real Estate Services. Click here to see the full Board of Directors roster.

2022 CCIM Michigan Chapter Transaction Award winners included Damon Jordan, CCIM, MSIRE, of The Swearingum Group, Inc., for the Roberts Riverwalk Hotel in Detroit, Jodi Milks, CCIM, of NAI Wisinski West
Michigan, for the Minges Creek Plaza in Battle Creek and Win Cooper, CCIM, of Cooper Commercial, for Magna Electronics, in Grand Blanc.

CBOR, with 700 members throughout the state, provides Michigan’s commercial real estate practitioners with industry–related professional services and benefits through its REALTOR® Charter. CBOR also launched a new company, CRE Pros, in 2021 for commercial professionals that seek similar services and benefits without the REALTOR® requirements. One of CBOR’s greatest member benefits is CPIX.net, a commercial listing service that extends throughout Michigan, powered by Moody’s CRE/Catylist. CPIX is governed and operated by the CBOR Board of Directors, and offers a regional, national and fully public interface for the CRE industry.

A Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) is a recognized expert in the commercial and investment real estate industry. The CCIM membership network includes brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, bankers and other allied professionals. Through this business network, CCIM members successfully complete thousands of transactions annually, representing more than $200 billion in value. Only 6 percent of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but also why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry. Regions and chapters, such as the CCIM Michigan Chapter, provide designees and candidates the opportunity to promote their business and educational goals through local and regional forums and meetings. More Information.

Nancy Allen, Chief Executive Officer of CBOR, said, “The synergies that exist between CBOR and CCIM make working together a clear win for both associations. CCIM Designees and Candidates are required to be affiliated to a Board of REALTORS® and CBOR has been providing similar services to the industry for well over 25 years. The CBOR team is honored to be selected to further promote the highly regarded CCIM designation and the Power of the Pin.”

Alis Manoogian, CCIM, 2023 Michigan Chapter President said “The CCIM Michigan Chapter welcomes the new relationship with CBOR. We look forward to increasing recognition of the CCIM designation as well as expanding our presence throughout the state. CBOR’s experienced team will provide services and outreach that will result in a positive experience for our membership and beyond. All professionals related to the industry can participate and CBOR will be able to share that message with a broader audience.”
